Antibacterial chemicals are found in many all-purpose cleaners, like 409, Lysol sprays, and Clorox wipes. The most prevalent disinfecting chemicals are quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs), which have been linked to antimicrobial resistance and many other serious health problems. Ironically, antibacterials aren’t actually necessary to remove bacteria from your surfaces, soap and water can do that! So I make my own non-toxic all-purpose cleaner that’s free from QACs and other harsh chemicals. All-purpose spray recipe: 2 tbsp Castile soap 2 cups water 10 drop essential oil (optional) Combine ingredients and pour into a spray bottle. Spray onto surfaces and wipe off with a damp towel. Some seperation will occur, so shake well between uses.
